Clear control points
1) What Information Sylen Uses Core
- Book details you enter: title, author, page count, status, and optional notes.
- Session details: starting page, ending page, reading duration, and interruption marks.
- Derived insights: reading pace, streaks, weekly pages, and calendar activity summaries.
- Optional cover image paths used to display your shelf visually.
2) Permission-Based Features Device Access
- Camera: used only when you choose to capture a book cover photo.
- Photo Library: used when you choose an existing image as a cover or export an edited image.
- Microphone: used only when you choose to create voice notes in supported flows.
If you do not grant a permission, the related optional feature simply stays unavailable while the main reading tracker continues to work.
3) How Your Data Supports the App Experience Usage
- Session inputs are used to generate progress and reading-behavior insights.
- Status updates (Reading, Finished, Abandoned, Wishlist) organize your personal shelf.
- Calendar and weekly charts help you understand consistency over time.
- Interruption and abandonment details help reveal where and why sessions break.
4) Controls You Have Your Choices
- You decide what books and notes to add, edit, or remove.
- You can stop using optional image and voice features at any time through device settings.
- You can continue using core reading logs even without optional permissions.
- You can review your stats and history directly inside the app interface.
5) Experience Transparency Clarity
- Sylen is designed to explain feature purpose through labels and in-context hints.
- Permission prompts are tied to the exact moment a feature needs access.
- Input validation is used to keep reading calculations meaningful and realistic.
- Visual summaries are generated from your own session and shelf data.
